Earlier I posted a site at AT&T labs that allows you to make your own voice alert wavs with their excellent Text to Speech Software.

I have made a collection of voice alerts here. This is using the female UK english voice. These .wav files can be used as alerts on your pocket pc. Just choose the ones you want and copy them into your windows folder. If you want to use it as a ringtone, place it in your /windows/ringtone folder. Enjoy!

Can I know how to change the alert tones for SMS for Dopod 818? Thank you so much, you have been a great help..
You have to copy the WAV sound files in the Windows directory of your Dopod 818. Then go to Settings>Sounds>Alerts and set the new New SMS alert sound.
